FabFitFun Summer Box 2018 + Review Video

Hey there everyone & happy Friday!

It is that time of the season again… FabFitFun unboxing time!! I am very excited about this box so, I am very excited to share my thoughts and feelings about the products that I received. There is a short video at the end of this post sharing my thoughts & opinions about all the products with you in person! For those of you tuning into this unboxing for the first time, I’ll give you just a quick rundown of the process with FabFitFun!

So FabFitFun is an organization that sends you full sized products, from brands all over, quarterly! Every season you pay $50 to receive over $200 worth of products & goodies! When first signing up you take a short style quiz so they can make each box perfect for you! Extra Products!

So before I even opened up the box, I received a few fabulous items for sharing the love for the brand! The first item is a Lavender Iluminus Body Oil by Wish! It is an all natural, cruelty-free oil that moisturizes, soothes & enhances your skins luminance!  Oh my gosh you guys, I absolutely love this product! It absorbs to your skin super quickly so it is not super oily on your body. I love the lavender smell & works like a charm. The second freebie is the MARRAKESH Oil! I absolutely adore this product. It is meant to add texture to your hair. I use a little bit of oil & run it through my hair when it’s damp & it works like a charm! The last freebie was this necklace by LUV AJ. It is a gorgeous long rose gold necklace with a few silver stones inside it. It is absolutely beautiful & I cannot wait to wear it!

Above are pictures of the box, which is absolutely beautiful & the catalog for this seasons box! This season FabFitFun has teamed up with the Wildlife Conservation Society which is an amazing organization. So, most of the products inside the box are cruelty-free which is a huge plus for me because I absolutely adore cruelty-free products!

The first thing that I received in my box was this cute little dish from Pier 1 Imports! I am shook by the marble design with the gold accent. It goes perfectly with my room design & its timeless look is the perfect addition to any space.

Next thing is the Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight & Contour Palette! This kit is EVERYTHING. It is super well pigmented & the colors are absolutely gorgeous! I am not used to contouring my face so this will be something new & exciting for me to try out. I am very excited to use this product!

Next up is this adorable Yumi Kim makeup bag! It was one of my additions. I was able to choose between this style or a periwinkle & floral design, but I ended up choosing this one because I love the simple & chic design of the navy. It has 2 sections for storage so it is perfect for organizing & carrying all of your products!

Here we have a resistance band by Maji Sports & this little device here will kick your butt! You can apply this device to any workout that you do & it mainly targets your abs, biceps, legs & back muscles. I have been using it at the gym the past few times that I have gone & it works like a charm. 10/10 would most definitely recommend!

Next up is this cool little gadget called Foreo Luna! It is a bluetooth powered device with skin sensors to create a personalized profile on the Foreo app to keep track of your skin’s health. I have not had the chance to use it yet, but I am curious to see what it has to say about my skin!

Next up we have the COOLA Organic Sunscreen! It doubles as both a moisturizer & sunscreen. It also contains about 70% organic ingredients which is always amazing. Overall this product is super great! I have worn it outside a couple times & it keeps my skin nice & moisturized so I can enjoy my time in the sun worry free!

Next up we have the Marinella Hawaiian Black Lava Body Caviar! This product is absolutely amazing. It is made up of natural ingredients (I list them in the video below) that work together to exfoliate, condition & hydrate your skin. You use it in the shower after going through your normal routine & apply on your body everywhere except your face, then rinse off & feel the magic! This is probably one of my newest favorite products that I have received in a long time & I cannot wait to keep using it.

Last thing inside my box is this ELEMIS Papaya & Enzyme Peel! It is a rinse of cream that contains exfoliating papaya, nourishing milk protein & moisturizing vitamin E to leave your skin healthy, moisturized and radiant. I have used this product a few times & OH MY GOSH the results are insane! The feeling of my skin before and after use was night and day. I absolutely adore this product & I will most likely be buying more in the future!

Busy Week + Taking Care of You

 

Hey there everyone!

Oh, my goodness, this past week has been super crazy between working and finalizing everything with my spring classes & I feel like I haven’t had a moment to do anything for myself! One of the things that I hate is feeling drained & feeling exhausted which is exactly what has been going on. Since this has been happening lately, I thought that it would be a perfect opportunity to share some of my tips for taking care of yourself during a busy week so you can avoid feeling drained & exhausted.

Get enough sleep

Making sure that you get enough sleep during the week is a key factor in your wellbeing for the rest of the week. When I have a busy schedule, sometimes it is difficult to make sleep a priority. It has been studied that while we are in our deepest levels of sleep that our immune system rebuilds itself & replenish our serotonin and norepinephrine levels. So if we are not getting enough sleep then it will have consequences for our health & mood. If you have a busy week ahead of you make sure that you leave enough time to sleep!

Squeeze in some time for the gym

I know, I know, it can be difficult to find the motivation to go to the gym while in the midst of a busy week, but I promise you it helps a lot! I’m not trying to say that you need to go and do a long workout in a gym, instead maybe try and wake up a little early in the morning or during a break go for a quick walk or do some easy yoga poses. Any form of small exercise throughout the day will help reduce stress and keep your motivation high for the rest of the day!

Tech detox

Sometimes there are days that I am constantly looking at my phone or laptop & forget to pay attention to everything else around me. I feel as if looking at my phone makes me more exhausted throughout the week. Something that I am working on is taking some time for a tech detox & having a few moments of peace. Turn everything off, put it in your box & be with yourself for a little bit. You will see results in no time once you clear the distractions from your day!

Read a book

For me, especially during the summer, I absolutely love to read in my free time! It’s the perfect way for me to relax & unwind for a long week. The series I am enjoying at the moment is called Red Queen & so far it is really good! I can’t wait to dive deeper into the book!

Pamper yourself

It’s time to break out the candles, grab the bath bombs & take a long soak in your bathtub!  During a busy week, I find the best medicine is to treat- yo-self to a little pampering sometime during the week. It is the perfect way to re-vamp your energy to push forward for the week!

Make you a priority 

I know it’s difficult to make yourself a priority on a busy week, but sometimes you have to pump the breaks & take a minute to relax. No matter how busy you get, you can fit self-care into your schedule by deciding to make it a priority for you!

I hope some of these tips help you feel a little more refreshed & rejuvenated for your future busy weeks that lie ahead! Next time you have a long or crazy week, don’t let it get the best of you. You are priority number one, so please remember to take some time to be a little selfish & focus on yourself. I hope you all have a wonderful week with lots of positivity & relaxation ahead of you! Self Love Tips + Having Confidence In You

Hey there everyone,

I hope you all are having a great week & are ready to keep the momentum going to the weekend!  Today I wanted to share a topic that is near and dear to me, self-love. Lately, in my posts, I have mentioned this particular topic because I believe it is an important lesson for not just women, but everyone should know and learn. Learning to love yourself and who you are can help you lead a better lifestyle & help you become more confident in yourself. Today I want to share tips that have helped me find my own love for myself & hopefully help you discover your own inner love.

No matter what the circumstances, always remember to smile. It is a sure fire way to brighten up your mood even on the toughest of days. Whenever I am doubting myself, my boyfriend (when the mood is right) always tries to make me laugh or crack a smile, which helps me get out of my funk and helps me believe in myself again.

Accept Yourself 

I know this can be easier said than done. I’m still trying to accept myself & every day it is a new problem that I find myself dealing with. But, I have to keep reminding myself that I am perfect the way I am & to stop trying to be like everyone else. Try to take 5 minutes every day and list off some things that you love about yourself. It could be your hair, your personality, or any number of amazing things. I promise one step at a time you will learn to love & accept yourself!

Positive Notes 

Leaving cute little notes for yourself around your room can instantly boost your mood & confidence in yourself.

Surround yourself with good people

Surrounding yourself with positive people who build you up instead of tearing you down can make all the difference in your confidence & love for yourself. Don’t let negative people dull your shine. Find people who make you a better person both inside and out!

Write out your feelings

Something that helps me is writing about my feelings. It gets everything off your chest which lifts a whole weight off your chest. Whether you like handwriting your feelings or typing them on your laptop, it never hurts to write them out and “detox” your mind to make room for more love.

Celebrate the small things 

Something that I always struggled with is missing the little good moments & things that happen in my life. I tend to get down on myself about the small bad moments & things no matter what. Everything else in my life could be great, but one small bad thing happens & my world goes into a spiral. However, I found that when I try to focus on the good moments or parts of myself that is when I start to feel more confident & proud of the beautiful person I am. So if you struggle with the same thing that I do, just remind yourself how truly amazing & beautiful you are inside and out!

Have a “you” day

I always feel like there are never enough hours in a day to do ALL the things that I want & need to do! For me, I feel most relaxed when I read or write, so I try to take an hour or 2 out of my day to do something that I love to do. Sometimes I’ll even take a full day! Go out shopping, pamper yourself, or go out on a confidence-building photoshoot. Whatever makes you happy & feeling special that day go out and have a good time!

Let go of any negativity 

Move on & let go of any negativity that you may have in your life. Life is too short for negativity to be a presence in your life so make sure to kick those negative thoughts & feels to the curb!

Don’t compare yourself

I am ALWAYS comparing myself to other girls & their look. I came to the decision that I am not like everyone else & I can’t keep putting myself through the torture of trying to change who I am to please standards. Anyone who is looking to find more self-love I think this is the most important step. Be true to you and stop looking to be like everyone else.

I hope some of these tips help you find peace in who you are & help you bring more self-love and confidence to your life! I know they have sure helped me in my self-loving journey (which is far from over) & I cannot wait to continue this journey. You are all amazing & important and I hope you never forget that! We are all created differently so live your life uniquely & create your own path. I hope you all have an amazing rest of your week & an even better weekend. I’ll talk to you all again soon!

Latest Obsessions Series + June Goals

Hey there everyone!

Happy Monday beautiful people! I hope your weekend was as fabulous as you are & full of fun. I apologize for being a little MIA last week. I decided to go back home to the east side to surprise my family for memorial day weekend & the rest of my week was full of work and school. So needless to say my week was a little busy. In other news, we finally managed to make it to June! This means it is the last couple weeks of summer classes for us college students & last week of regular classes for high schoolers.  Either way, June is the perfect month to sit back, relax & set new goals for the summer. I am very excited to share with all of you my latest obsessions & monthly goals!

My New Car

I am very excited to have received my own car! It is a silver Volvo with a leather black interior & boy is it beautiful. I had been sharing my boyfriend’s car for a while, so needless to say I am very excited to be able to have my own wheels & get around much easier!

Cold Brew Coffee 

Just because it’s warm outside does not stop my coffee addiction! It is time to put away those hot coffee drinks & bring in the cool and refreshing cold brew!

Linen Pants

I just bought this new pair of linen joggers from H&M and I am totally OBSESSED! They are super lightweight & the perfect addition to any outfit. I also love these pants because they keep me cool! The lightweight material keeps my lower half comfy & cool for warmer days. There will most definitely be a post coming out soon about these pants so be sure to keep a lookout for it!

Latest Obsession: Book 

The latest book I have been reading is called The Light We Lost & OMFG you guys it is incredible! The story follows a love story written to the main character’s, Lucy, love of her life. She basically looks back on her life with Gabe to the end of their story & tells the story of the decisions that we make for ourselves in between. This book hooked me from beginning to end & I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone who is looking for a steamy & tragic love story this summer!

Music 

Literally anything by Khalid! His voice is so soothing & I just can’t get enough of his music! If you haven’t listened to OTW yet, I would 100% recommend that you do right now. Music has always been an obsession of mine so I love finding new songs & artists to listen to. If you have any songs or artists that you think are great let me know so I can go give them a listen!

Now here are some of my June goals:

  • Get a KILLER tan
  • Make a solid workout plan
  • Save Money
  • Find more inspiring podcasts (if you know of any good ones let me know!)
  • Sell clothes I am not wearing any longer
  • Be on my phone less
  • Take more photos
  • Re-design my room
