Day Off + Making the Most of the Day

Hey there everyone & happy Monday!

Holy cow this past week was crazy. Between working & having some good friends visit for the weekend, I have been running around non-stop. Today is my day off before I have to go back into work & it got me thinking about all the things that I wasn’t able to accomplish on the days that I was busy. So, I thought I would share some of my tips on how I try to stay productive during a day off! I always try my best to make the most out of my day off’s. I’m not saying that any free time I have is used cleaning & organizing, but I like to explore & make the most out of the full day I have!

Don’t sleep in late

I know that you probably want to sleep in on your day off but I’m telling you there is no better feeling than waking up at a decent time & getting your day started. I’m not saying you need to wake up at the crack of dawn or anything, but waking up at 8:30 or 9 in the morning honestly great! I am able to roll out of bed, grab my morning coffee & start my day.

Make a reasonable To-Do List

The key word here is reasonable. If you are using your day off to work on getting stuff done, then make a to-do list of the most important things you need to get done that day! I normally try to start off with 5 goals for that day & if I get done with them all early, then I focus on the lesser important goals that I had!

Move Your Body

Don’t spend the whole day just hanging around the house watching Netflix (I know it’s hard not to) but get your body up & moving! Whether it’s going to the gym or finding a new local hang out spot, it is important to not waste your time & get your body moving. I love finding new places in GR to explore on my day off!

Life is too short for you to spend an entire day just looking at your phone! I’m not perfect & believe me I could spend hours just mindlessly staring at my computer or on my phone, but some days I have to force myself to unplug. I have found that I am way more productive on my day off when I disconnect & pay attention to everything going on around me. If you want to make the most of your time off, unplug & make sure to make the most of the beautiful day around you!

Do something you don’t normally do

Day off’s are the perfect day to try something new & do something that you normally don’t have the opportunity to do! A lot of the time I don’t have a whole lot of time to go somewhere, just sit & write, so on my day off’s I try to put some time aside for me to go sit somewhere local & write. I also love to spend time with my boyfriend, especially if we have both been crazy with work, and spend some time exploring!

Your mind & body are the most important things for you to take care of, so it is important for you to take some time during the day to recharge your body! Most days I like to take a cat nap or try some meditation because it helps me to refresh myself before taking on the week ahead.

Prepare for the week

As much as I would love to just forget about adult responsibilities (ew) and go about my day, most times I find it useful to take an hour or two out of my day to plan out the week! This way I have a clear plan of what I still need to do & plan out time to do it in between working.

I hope you use some of these tips on your next day off & if you have any more awesome tips that you think I should use, let me know in the comments below! Also, I have been working on some AMAZING content that I am so excited to share with all of you. So, be on the lookout for some new stuff coming soon! I hope you all have an amazing rest of your week full of fun & positivity. Don’t let your Monday blues bring you down today & keep pushing forward to the weekend!

Sending Positive Vibes,

  1. Great post, I have every Monday off work so I like to use it productively too. I try to do all of my meal prep and get as many blog posts as possible. Do you use your days off for specific things for your blog? I’m always looking for areas to improve.

    1. I work on mainly writing new content for my blog on my days off! It really depends on how far behind I get for content creating & photographing. Thank you for your amazing comment! 💛
