Body Positivity + Loving Yourself

Hello beautiful friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend & are ready to kick off this week strong! I have had the craziest week last week few weeks with work & it has been taking quite the toll on my well being & everyday routine. I have noticed that I am way less motivated to work on anything else in between work because I am so physically exhausted all the time. All this got me thinking about my body & how I have been treating it lately. I have always struggled with my body & how I look but lately, I am working on loving myself for the way I am. I thought I would share some life tips that I try my best to follow in order to become more positive about my body & myself


Social Detox 

One of the things that always tends to bring me down about myself is social media. Don’t get me wrong I love social media & posting new content on it, but while scrolling through my feed most days it is hard to not compare myself to the other girls that I see on social media. Lately, I have been trying to take some time away from social media & focus on everything going around me. Honestly, it has been one of the most enlightening experiences I have done. Now I’m not perfect & I don’t do this every day, but taking a detox from social media has helped me focus on loving myself and my body the way it is!

Affirmations are key

I have been trying to keep a list of things that I find positive about myself! I try every morning to read them to myself or remind myself of them throughout the day. Treating my body well & learning not to be negative about my flaws is what these affirmations are all about. Instead of looking at myself & listing off the things I hate, I try to turn those negatives into positives. Little affirmations make my day & help boost my confidence when I need it!

Exercise for YOU

When I first started going to the gym, I thought I had to do it in order to look a certain way which ended up not really accomplishing anything. I wasn’t motivated & I became frustrated with my body when I wouldn’t see any progress. Now that I am getting back into a routine & all my focus is just on bettering my overall wellbeing! I am starting to feel more motivated to push my body to new limits instead of trying to look a certain way & I have never felt better about myself!

Dress for your body

Throw on your favorite outfit & strut your stuff! Nothing makes me feel more confident about my body than putting on one of my favorite outfits & killin’ the day. Don’t try to wear clothes that don’t fit your body just for the sake of looking like other girls. Wear things that work for your body type & strut your stuff!

Accept yourself

Learning to accept yourself is one of the healthiest things you can do! I know I will probably never be a size 2 or 4 so accepting my body type is all I can do at the end of the day. I have bigger hips & a bigger butt which is totally great! Don’t get me wrong I wish I could look like some of the girls I see online, but I can’t change the way that my body was designed. Acceptance is key when it comes to loving your body at the end of the day!

There are so many ways that you can improve your view towards your body & how you choose to live each day in achieving love for yourself!
